This book is worth every penny!! Great buy. I am always looking for new modern ideas for my music classes. This book is fantastic and has been a lifesaver when doing my lesson plans !! Really modern ideas and easy instructions to understand. You don't need to be a music genius to use in the classroom. Love it ! Great buy.
Great book thoroughly recommended! Lots of great ideas. Points you in the direction of lots of great songs and resources and spells out how to teach different areas of music. Fantastic.
This book is full of excellent music lessons which are packaged in a fun way. It should also kick start your own new ideas if you're struggling to keep your approach fresh.
A Must Buy! Great resource with lots of ideas & fantastic games.
When this arrived on my doorstep I was a little daunted - I hadn't noticed it's almost 300 pages! But it's very easy to both skim through, and dip in and out of. It had a good balance of ks1 and 2 activities, and it's clearly set out into the four areas of music - singing, rhythm, listening and playing. There's lots there to adapt for my class (reception special needs) but it would have been a boon to have when I was teaching in mainstream. A welcome resource.
As a new teacher with very little musical knowledge or experience, this book has proved very useful. It has lots of fun ideas for music lessons which my class really enjoyed. It is well written and the musical terminology is clearly explained. Highly recommended.
Very useful little book. I've been doing Kodaly-based music lessons in primary schools for a couple of years following an excellent course I attended, but I'd begun to get bored with using the same resources AND so had my pupils (especially in the Upper Junior years.) This book is great if you've got an idea of concepts you want to work on but are running stale on interesting ways to present them. A real pick n' mix treat. Even better when you go to the linked website (see p8 of Introduction section) which has all the resource sheets referred to in the book for you to download/copy as a free teaching resource...it is fab! No more tearing my hair out over what to put in lesson plans, in fact, the problem now is avoiding putting too much in!!!
